Governance Review, Leadership Structure Assessment and Quality Care and Education Survey
Whānau ma, as a result of the Whānau resolution passed at the hui-a-whānau held on the 9th May 2018, Komiti Mahi have approved Niwa Nuri to commence a Governance Review and Leadership Structure Assessment. For both the Governance Review and Leadership Structure Assessment, Niwa intends to use an online questionnaire so that the analytical and reporting processes are efficient. He will also interview all participants to enable us to explore any issues in greater depth. I have asked Niwa to have the report complete for the July Te Kōhanga Reo o Ngā Kuaka hui.
1. Governance Review (Independent Review by Niwa Nuri)
The process will include all members of the Komiti Mahi, Komiti Putea, and the Tumuaki. The online questionnaire and interviews will be summarised on a confidential basis and the summary will be reviewed by whānau.
2. Leadership Team Assessment (Independent Assessment by Niwa Nuri)
On 4 September 2017, Komiti Mahi announced the development of a dynamic leadership structure. This interim structure is now up for evaluation to help whanau decide on our Kōhanga structure for the long-term. The process will include all Kaiako and members of the Leadership Team. The online questionnaire and interviews will be summarised on a confidential basis and the summary will be reviewed by whānau.
You will receive an email inviting you to fill out the Ngā Kuaka Assessment Tool and when the questionnaire has closed. Niwa will also phone or email you to confirm an interview time. If you have any specific concerns for Niwa you are welcome to contact him directly, email is probably the best option. Niwa’s contact details Komiti Members and all Kaimahi: are: firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 021-433-968.
3. Quality Care and Education (Komiti Mahi to release)
In addition, Komiti Mahi will re-release the “Quality Care and Education” Survey which was initially conducted in September 2017, for all whanau to provide feedback. The process will include inviting all whānau members to complete the online survey. Current results will be compared to those provided 9 months ago.
Communications: Please visit www.ngakuaka.org, regularly check your email and watch out for any Facebook posts to ensure you are kept up-to-date, as the Project Plan will be updated as tasks are completed.
